I'm Still Here...Although I'm M.I.A.

Hey everybody! Sorry for not posting anything yesterday and for posting late today. Yesterday was a kind of a busy day.

My husband has been sick with a fever since last Saturday. I finally convinced him to go see the doctor, and boy I'm glad that we did! Turns out, he has bronchitis. Poor thing can't say three words without coughing his lungs out. So needless to say, I'll be busy taking care of my baby making him chicken soup, giving him his meds, and making sure he gets plenty of fluids and rest.

So, until we meet again, here's a little something to look forward to for next week:
- Guest post from my cute buddy Courtney who blogs over at Chase All Your Dreams

-A GIVEAWAY from Courtney! You could win some really cute jewelry :)
Piano Ring

Umbrella Necklace
- Tuesday's feature of "5 Great Etsy Gifts for..." will be about one of my favorite things in the world...CANDY!!!

Can't wait to share all this awesomeness with you guys! See you next week :)

Lunch Date with Hubby in Florida

There are so many pictures to filter through from our vacation. I didn't realize that I had taken so many! I'll have to load up the other pictures at another time :)

These pictures are of my lunch date with my hubby while in Orlando, Florida. He asked one of the front desk ladies at the resort we stayed at where is a good place to eat for lunch. She immediately said Bahama Breeze...and that's where we went! The food, atmosphere, staff, and prices were AMAZING! If you ever get to go to Orlando, please check this place out. Here's what we had - before and after:
Pan-seared Tilapia with creamy mango butter, string beans, and mashed cinnamon sweet potatoes (my meal - all gluten free!)

Fish tacos with creamy mango salsa and a side of Bahama Seafood Chowder that was slammed full of shrimp, clams, scallops, and fish (hubby's meal - not gluten free so I couldn't try it)

After we had lunch, we decided to walk around Downtown Disney a little. Only a little because it was so sticky hot that day...and yet I decided to wear jeans. Go figure! Here is us trying to do our best impersonations of this cute statue we found
Yep, looking pretty hot there with my black shirt and jeans on. I mean I was literally HOT!!! Lol :)

Hubby one-upped me with his dead on pose. He's so adorable!

So there you have it! Hope you enjoy the pictures and the stories that went along with them. More vacation pictures to come...as soon as I find them all...

My Husband Can Make Lemonade Out of the Lemons in My Life

Hello everyone! Sorry for being away for a few days. Thank you to everyone that checked on me and kept me in their prayers this past week. It's still hard dealing with my friend's death, but each day that goes by gets easier.

Some you guys know that I have Tourett's Syndrome. The tics can get worse if you're under a lot of stress and boy have I been under some stress. My tics have been more frequent and violent lately than they have been in a long time. I was pretty much on bed rest so that I could make it to my friend's funeral on Friday.

Sometimes the tics, the soreness from the twitching, and the stares is just too much for me. Tourette's is definitely the "lemon" in my life. But as the saying goes, "when life hands you lemons, make lemonade". Well, it's hard for me to make lemonade from this. But, my husband makes the sweetest lemonade out of my lemons.

The other day when my tics were really bad, my husband tenderly took my hand and said so sweetly, "I love you sweetheart. Tics and all.". I just melted when he said that. See, when we married, I didn't have Tourette's. This is something I developed about 8 months ago. So for him to still love me in such an unconditional way is amazing! Like I said before, my husband can make lemonade out of the lemons in my life.

I hope that all of you have someone like that.

Hide and Go Seek Medicine

Don't you just hate waking up not feeling well? You try to mull over in your mind if you were feeling bad during the day before or maybe noticed something amiss right before you fell asleep. Well, that's what happened to me this morning. I woke up just feeling "blah" - my throat was sore and my sinuses were doing this funky thing they've never done before. Lol! So, I did as my hubby suggested and went to see our doctor who graciously fit me in around 11 this morning.

I'm thinking I have a sinus infection since my throat is sore and my sinuses are acting all funky. WRONG! So what on earth could be wrong with me? After some lab testing, my doctor informs me that I have a urinary tract infection (UTI). Ouch! Yeah, I've had those before and they are no fun at all. He graciously sends my prescription in to the local pharmacy so that I can just pick it up on my way home. I get there and they kindly explain that it hasn't shown up in their system yet and they don't when it will. Since it's only 5 to 7 minutes from my house, I decide to go home. This happened around 12:40.

Fast forward some hours to 4:30 - I started feeling the lower back pain that a UTI will give you, so I asked my husband if he could pick up my meds on his way  home from work. Guess what? The medicine never showed up in the system! WHAT!?! So with 30 minutes left till our doctor's office closes, my hubby calls them to inform them of the case of "the missing medicine". Thankfully he was able to reach someone and they cleared the matter right up.

So what lessons did I learn today?
1. NEVER walk out of the doctor's office without a written prescription, even if they call it in.
2. Now that it's getting hotter, drink more water to avoid getting a UTI.
3. My husband is incredibly amazing! (but I already knew that...)

P.S. - I never found out why my throat was sore and my sinuses were acting up this morning. Huh?

Goodwill Mud Run 2012

Hello cuties! Yesterday I witnessed something completely amazing! My husband and 3 of his friends competed in the Goodwill Mud Run that was held in Greenville, SC. For those who don't know what it is, like I didn't, it is a 35 obstacle course that is based on military drills. They had to crawl under barbed wire, climb walls, run for miles, trek through a creek that was waist-deep and other tough obstacles. There was even a smaller one for the kids to run through. My husband and his team finished in 48 minutes. I was so very proud of them!
The guys before the Mud Run. My hubby is the cute blonde in the back with the shades on  :)

What really impressed me though was the turn out that was there yesterday. Teams were lining up to endure this grueling obstacle course all for charity. It was amazing and I'm sure the money that was collected was incredible!   I was so moved that I'm planning on running it next year. Guess I better start training for it now. Here are a few pictures of my husband and his team before the Mud Run and after. Oh yeah...they are completely covered in mud from head to toe. I'll also post a link to the Goodwill Mud Run website in case anyone wants to learn more about it. Later cuties :)
